The Journey Of The Blues!

India’s journey through the ICC World T20 2016 was, not so good. The Indian Cricket Team had a clumsy start  against the Kiwis who did not even use Trent Boult or Tim Southee, their top Bowlers! Watching the first-half of the India vs New Zealand made me admire Suresh Raina’s brilliant Fielding at the wicket. The second-half will definitely anger many Indian fans because the Indian Batting Line up did 3rd class batting against The Blackcaps. India lost terribly by 47 Runs.

The next match: India vs Pakistan.
Pakistan had gained momentum after they defeated Bangladesh in a big way. When I heard Pakistan was facing India at Eden, I started getting nervous. On the Match day, I asked my Dad if India have any chance of winning. He told me that “India has a tough opponent to face tonight. It will be a tough game for India.” The first-half was shocking. I use the word “Shocking” because the second ball bowled by R.Ashwin in his first over spun a lot! Even the Experts were shocked. They predicted that this pitch would be ideal for Seamers and Pacers!

The second-half was more miraculous than tactical for India, as there were Butterflies in my stomach as India were 23-3 in no time! Now, Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh were at the crease. I was getting happier as Yuvraj and Kohli  were turning the game around. What a knock did Virat Kohli play! 54 runs, in a spin pitch, against “Pakistan” bowling attack! What an Incredible knock! India organized themselves and defeated Pakistan successfully.

The next match: India vs Bangladesh
Bangladesh did not have a great tournament so far . 2 losses against Pakistan and Australia had put them in a pressure situation. They had to win against India to even have a chance to qualify for the semi-finals.  Indian fans thought they got off easy this time. But little did they know they were in for some trouble. The first-half was okay, but the score the Indians put up was not enough. In a pitch like Bangalore’s, 146 is not a good score against Bangladesh’s mighty batting- line up.

I was seriously worried when Tamim Iqbal hit 5 fours of Jasprit Bumrah’s over. But what turned the match was Dhoni’s stumping and the Last over that changed the match. The last over Bowled by Hardik Pandya  was a dramatic one. The first ball was a single. The 2nd and 3rd balls were gone for fours. Bangladesh needed just 2 runs of 3 balls. That is where the game changed. The 4th and 5th balls were wickets and the last ball was a brilliant Run-out by M.S.D. Dhoni the Captain had not played well and Dhoni the Wicket-keeper had saved Dhoni the Captain.

The next match: India vs Australia
This match was virtually a quarter-final. India vs Australia was a match that would decide India’s fate in this World T20. The first-half of the match went India’s way as India restricted the Aussies to making just 160. But, the Indian Batting – line up was again struggling against the Aussie Bowling. Once again, It was Virat Kohli along with M.S.D. to make India win with 5 balls to spare, to secure a place in the semi-finals.

The Last Clash: India Take On The Windies!
This was the 2nd semi final match. India were forced to Bat first. They made up a total of 192, Which was good. But the Indian Bowling attack Bowled a lot of no balls and West Indies Defeated India by 2 Balls.
